All roads led to Iloko-Ijesha in Oriade Local Government Council Area of Osun State on Sunday when the Obokun/ Oriade Federal Constituency chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC) rolled out the drums to celebrate the 66th birthday anniversary of Governor Gboyega Oyetola with fanfare.
The stakeholders of the APC in the federal constituency also used the occasion to adopt Governor Oyetola for second term; the state chairman of the party, Prince Gboyega Famodun, for another term and High Chief Shola Ogunsanya as the leader of the APC in the federal constituency.
The stakeholders of the party who spoke in turns on the occasion disclosed that Governor Oyetola has been performing marvellously in the state despite the glaring paucity of funds.
They all described the governor is a focused leader of men and resources with a penchant for increasing the fortune of the ruling party through his developmental projects across the state.
They disclosed that it was their unanimous resolution in Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency under the leadership of High Chief Shola Ogunsanya that there is no point in changing a winning team which necessitates their support for the additional four years for Governor Oyetola.
The APC stakeholders also stated that Prince Famodun’s effective leadership of the party has brought stability and success in several fronts for the party which is one of the reasons they are in support of continuity of party administration for the Igbajo-born Prince.
It was also revealed at the meeting that Famodun is fully abreast of happenings in all the wards making up the state with proffered solutions to any emerging political challenges.
The Obokun/Oriade APC stakeholders also mentioned the existing co-operation and amity between Oyetola and Famodun as an attribute that is promoting progressive governance in the state.
The occasion where a birthday cake was cut in commemoration of Governor Oyetola’s 66th birthday coming up tomorrow was spiced with prayers both from Muslims and Christians for the ‘birthday boy’.
They prayed that God Almighty should continue to be magnanimous with Governor Oyetola to spend many more fruitful years in life with sound health and accomplished aspirations in all ramifications.
It was also unanimously agreed upon at the meeting that Pa Ogunsanya should continue to lead the party as his absence was felt with reference to poor election results during his short break from the party.
It was also resolved at the meeting that any angry member(s) of the party for one reason or the other should sheath their swords in the interest of the party.
Some of the prominent stakeholders of the APC in attendance at the event are: Chief Nasiru Komolafe, a leader from Obokun; Chief Oluwatayo Rufus, a leader from Oriade-South; Hon Desmond Ojo, House of Assembly member representing Oriade State Constituency; Hon Komolafe Joel, first chairman, Oriade; Alhaja Fakokunde Kudirat, State Women Leader; Prince Shola Adewumi, O’ RAMP State Co-ordinator; Dr Wale Bolorunduro, former state Commissioner for Finance; Hon Goke Awotunde, former member, Osun State House of Assembly and Hon Asaolu Oladiran, a leader from Obokun Local Government.
Others are: Hon Tunji Adesokan, former Secretary, Obokun Local Government; Hon Alade Ogundere, former Obokun chairman; Hon Esan C.O., a leader from Obokun; Hon Blessing Ademikore, APC Chairman in Oriade; Hon Gbenga Ajewole, APC Chairman in Oriade-South; Hon Olamiju Oladimeji, APC Chairman in Obokun; Hon Famoyin, APC Chairman in Obokun LCDA; Hon Ajimotokin Oludare, former SPEB Secretary in Oriade; all councillors; ward chairmen and Olabamiji Idowu, Local Government Women Leader.
Also present at the event are all the local government youth leaders; Hon Ife Arowolo, Secretary for the Youths, Oriade-South; Hon Yemi Ayinde, Secretary for the Youths, Oriade Local Government; Hon Goke Ajimotokin, Vice-chairman, Oriade Local Government; all former councillors; Obokun Local Government Women Leaders; the Iyaloja in Obokun and Hon Femi Balogun, an APC leader in Oriade Local Government Council Area of Osun State.
