The former Commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs in Osun State, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, also known as Banik, has expressed sorrow over the death of the mother of Oluomo Sunday Akere, Mrs Deborah Wuraola Akere.

Banik described Akere’s mother as a God-fearing and devoted mother, and a solid pillar of support to her children and those around her throughout her life.

In a statement issued by his media office, Banik noted that the sudden departure of the Matriarchal of the Akere’s has left a void difficult to fill within the family, in Igbajo and in all those who knew the departed mother.

He described the late mama Akere as a devoted Christian who was steadfast in her service to God and humanity which reflected in the lives of her children she left behind.

Banik added: “Mama’s contributions and sacrifices to humanity will never be forgotten. She was a woman of integrity who led by example, inspiring her children with her passion for service and dedication. Her motherly advice and prayers kept her children and friends united and focused on their mission in life even in the face of challenges.

‘’We have lost a great pillar of support to our dear friend and everyone that knows her during her lifetime, a prayer worrier. We mourn this devastating loss, but we take solace in the lasting legacy and sterling example she leaves behind.

‘’On behalf of my family, I extend my deep condolences to my dear friend and brother, Oluomo Sunday Akere, the family and the entire Igbajo people on this irreparable loss.

‘’May the soul of the deceased rest in peace, and may God grant her family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this loss.” He concluded
