AMBO Movement in UK Endorses Oyebamiji for Osun 2026 Governorship
The United Kingdom chapter of the AMBO Movement has thrown its weight behind Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) as its preferred candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election, citing his proven leadership, financial expertise, and unwavering commitment to public service.
In a formal letter addressed to the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, the group passionately recommended Oyebamiji for the party’s 2026 gubernatorial ticket. The endorsement, signed by Mayowa Olabisi on behalf of AMBO Movement UK, reflects the diaspora’s confidence in Oyebamiji’s capacity to steer Osun State toward greater economic and social prosperity.
“As a sociopolitical group committed to the progress and prosperity of Osun, we wish to formally recommend Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as the most suitable candidate,” the letter stated. It went on to highlight his outstanding achievements in both the public and private sectors.
Oyebamiji’s tenure as Managing Director of the Osun State Investment Company Limited (OSICOL) and later as Commissioner for Finance saw him transform struggling state institutions into profitable and transparent entities. His leadership was marked by innovation, fiscal discipline, and strategic investment planning that set the foundation for sustainable development in Osun State.
Currently serving as the Managing Director and CEO of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Oyebamiji has further demonstrated his capacity for results. Under his leadership, NIWA commissioned 15 boats within one year — including patrol boats, water ambulances, and hydrographic survey vessels — and reduced waterway accidents and fatalities by 30% in 2024. His commitment to staff welfare and regulatory reform through the Water Transportation Code has also been applauded.
The AMBO Movement UK also expressed concern over Osun State’s low Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), emphasizing the need for a leader with strong financial acumen. “It is imperative that the APC presents a candidate with proven financial acumen to direct the state on the path of economic prosperity,” the group stated.
Beyond his administrative accomplishments, the group praised Oyebamiji’s loyalty to the APC, his grassroots appeal, and his ability to build bridges across political divides. “He embodies the values of integrity, service, and visionary leadership that our party stands for,” they noted.
The AMBO Movement UK pledged full financial and logistical support from the diaspora to bolster Oyebamiji’s candidacy and ensure the APC’s success in the 2026 election.
The letter was also copied to key political figures, including Chief Adebisi Akande, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, Senator Ajibola Basiru, and the APC Elders’ Caucus.
