There is a brewing tension in the Osogbo chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, as grassroots mobiliser in the town, Mrs. Ogunlusi Shade Sadiat Baruwa, has formally announced her resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ward 04, Osogbo, with immediate effect, citing persistent harassment, intimidation and injustice from key figures within the party.

In a resignation letter addressed to the Ward Chairman of the PDP in Osogbo, Hon. Baruwa detailed a series of troubling experiences that led to her decision.

According to her, despite her unwavering loyalty, dedication, and financial contributions to the party, she was subjected to threats, false accusations, and consistent neglect by party leadership.

She specifically alleged that certain party leaders, including the Osogbo PDP Chairman, Mr. Asimiyu Ajibola (popularly known as Baba Isila), Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Muniru Raji, and Mr. Segun Olije, were involved in acts of provocation and oppression against her.

Hon. Baruwa further recounted a disturbing incident that occurred on August 23, 2025, during a voters’ registration exercise in Osogbo, where she and her supporters were allegedly attacked by armed thugs. She noted that although she reported the incident to prominent stakeholders, including Hon. Sunday Bisi, Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe, Yeyeluwa Modupeola Sanni, and Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, no action was taken.
In addition, she revealed that she was falsely accused of misappropriating funds contributed by Special Assistants (SSAs) in Osogbo Local Government.

Despite returning the money to clear her name, she claimed that damaging allegations persisted. She also accused Hon. Teslim Igbalaye of unjustly withholding her salary for several months, further compounding her ordeal.

Hon. Baruwa expressed deep disappointment over what she described as a lack of internal justice and accountability within the party, stating that her continued membership had become untenable.

“This decision comes after enduring relentless attacks, provocations, oppression, and intimidation. I can no longer remain in an environment where my dignity, safety, and contributions are disregarded,” she stated.
