Osun APC Tackles Accord Party Over US Embassy Petition Against Campaign DG Wole Oke
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the petition of a member of the Accord Party in the state to the American Ambassador in Nigeria, alleging Honourable Wole Oke, the Director-General of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) Campaign Committee, the governorship candidate of the APC in the 15th August, 2026 election of stoking violence as baseless, frivolous and a misuse of forum and best described as attention-seeking.
It would be recalled that a member of the Accord Party who is eyeing Oke’s seat in the House of Representatives, petitioned the American Embassy in a letter dated 9th April, 2026, and hurriedly rushed to the social media to publish its acknowledged copy where it is alleging that the Oyebamiji campaign Director-General of using some language capable of brewing violence in the state.
It was a pity that such a letter could emanate from such a party member who is supposed to know better than this crass display of total ignorance laced in his foreseeable frustration of inability to clinch his lame ambition to dislodge the ever outstanding and result-oriented political entity in the person of the D-G in the history of Osun State.
It is our belief that it shouldn’t be too much for such a member under the relatively unknown and unpopular Accord Party, to come to terms with the overburdened cliche that the meaning of any word spoken at any point in time is not total.
It is absurd, disgusting and disheartening that Oke, an apostle of the rules of law who could hardly hurt a fly could be brazenly accused of the intention to promote violence in the forthcoming governorship election which would certainly witness the end of the current misgovernance in the state of the Virtuous.
Whoever might have been painstakingly watching the constant tantrums of this member against the D-G of the AMBO Campaign Committee would not agree less that he has been waging a needless war against the affable and pragmatic lawmaker whose conduct both as a private and public office holder has qualified him not only as a resourceful representative of his constituency in Obokun/Oriade in particular but a worthy ambassador of the nation in general.
The petitioner could save the unsuspecting members of the public the burden of constantly watching his show of shame with his constant display of fear of political unknown about his already bungled ambition which has irredeemably hit the rocks because of the towering political popularity of the brand new Director-general of AMBO.
We won’t object to his choice of netting a good client in the perpetual place holder governor who is glaringly faced with the toughest political battle of his life over his re-election bid and he’s willing to get hold of anything as a political life jacket to remain afloat.
Our concern however, is for the baby politician to desist from destroying his little stagnant political career by carrying another man’s load on his head while dragging his own metaphorical baggage with bare hands which could only amount to exhibition of an act of idiocy and sheer political in-experiences.
He should go back to the drawing board and inform his sponsors that this latest option of petitioning the American Embassy over a harmless political statement made by the campaign D-G can neither sit nor fly.
Education is so important and members of the Accord Party never disappoint people at any point in time that they lack the education.
For purpose of education and enlightenment, Nigeria is a sovereign state and where any person is reasonably suspected to have committed any offence known to the law, the appropriate channel to address it is the law enforcement agencies but not to a foreign diplomat.
Therefore, the petition is nothing but a display of crass ignorance, lack of education and necessary knowledge.
That such is coming from an aspirant in the moribund Accord Party tells the world that the hyena will never change its skin.
If actually the petitioner is desirous of genuinely assisting the verifiably embattled Accord Party governorship candidate, his priority should be how to make popular the relatively unknown party in the state in particular and the nation at large instead of chasing shadow over an already divinely accomplished political ambition of Asiwaju Oyebamiji who is not a pretender but a serious contender.
It is neither Oke nor any member of our progressive party that is responsible for the dwindling political popularity and fortune of the petitioner’s preferred governorship candidate who has broken a negative record as being the first state governor who was absolutely rejected from defecting into another party.
