Oyo Kidnap Rescue: Oyebamiji Hails Tinubu’s Decisive Leadership, Faults Adeleke’s Security Record, Urges Osun Residents to Endure Him Until November 2026
The Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council has expressed the profound joy, relief, and deep gratitude of its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji ( AMBO) following the successful rescue of the schoolchildren and teachers abducted in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
After a grueling 56-day standoff in captivity, their safe return marks a monumental triumph for the nation’s security architecture.
We extend our highest commendations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his unwavering political will and strategic directive in deploying a specialized security unit to resolve the crisis.
The President’s refusal to concede to criminal demands, combined with his decision to approve 1,000 forest guards to reinforce regional safety, underscores a decisive commitment to securing citizens and residents of Nigeria.
We also commend the National Security Adviser, Minister of Defence and other Security Chiefs.
Our heartiest accolades go to the gallant officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other security agencies.
Their flawlessly coordinated, intelligence-driven operation not only brought our children and teachers home without collateral damage, but also successfully neutralized multiple terrorists and led to the strategic arrest of some abductors.
While we celebrate this safe return, our thoughts and prayers remain with the families of the victims, and we extend our deepest condolences to the family of the late Mr. Oyedokun, who was tragically murdered during the abduction.
However, while celebrating this security milestone, the Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council expresses deep concern over the state of readiness and security architecture in Osun State under the current administration.
We held that security requires proactive leadership, which is currently lacking in Osun state. The current administration has accessed over 15 billion Naira in security votes.
But despite this massive financial inflow, there is little to show in terms of advanced security infrastructure, enhanced local intelligence gathering, or robust support for local security outfits.
The deployment of Amotekun operatives to Pacific Energy Company owned by the Adelekes in Ondo State should be condemned by all. Osun indigenes and residents deserve to know why a security outfit funded by taxpayers is being used to protect a private commercial enterprise outside the state while insecurity remains a concern in many communities of the state.
Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council urges the citizens of the state to remain patient and “manage” the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke for the remainder of its tenure that will no doubt come to an end in November 2026.
We counsel Governor Adeleke to significantly up his game, prioritize the lives of citizens over political showmanship, and deploy the state’s security votes transparently to secure Osun’s borders.
Signed

Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council.
