Residents of Osun State have expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the ongoing reconstruction of the 82-kilometre Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan Road, describing the project as a major intervention that will end decades of hardship for motorists and commuters.

The road, which has reportedly remained in a deplorable condition since 1994, is currently undergoing reconstruction using the Continuous Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP) technology.

The project, awarded to Messrs Peculiar Ultimate Concerns, was officially flagged off by the Minister of Works, Engr David Umahi, in August 2026.

Residents and other stakeholders have expressed satisfaction with the pace of work, noting that construction activities progressing from both ends of the road have been impressive.

The completion of the road is also expected to ease transportation challenges, improve the movement of people and goods, and strengthen commercial interactions between communities along the corridor.

Expressing gratitude to the President, the residents also commended the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for his contributions and support towards facilitating the project as well as a couple of ongoing federal road projects in the state.

They described the ongoing reconstruction as a significant milestone, expressing optimism that the project would be completed to the benefit of residents, businesses and road users.
