The Crystal Heart Foundation continued its mission to build healthier and more resilient communities with a powerful outreach campaign against drug abuse at Ataoja School of Science, Osogbo. The initiative brought together students, teachers, and facilitators for an eye-opening session aimed at equipping teenagers with the knowledge they need to make informed and positive life choices.

A key highlight of the outreach was the session led by Dr. Oyeleke, whose expertise and warm delivery captured the attention of the students. She spoke extensively on the short- and long-term effects of drug use, breaking down complex medical realities into simple, relatable examples for the teenagers. Dr. Oyeleke emphasized how drug misuse can affect brain development, academic performance, emotional stability, and future opportunities.

She went further to sensitise the students on peer pressure, offering practical ways to say “no” and choose healthier alternatives. Her interactive approach—questions, real-life stories, and open discussions—created a safe environment for the students to share their thoughts and ask difficult questions.

The teachers at Ataoja School of Science expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Crystal Heart Foundation for choosing their school as one of the beneficiaries of the campaign. They acknowledged the rising concerns around substance use among young people and praised the foundation for addressing the issue with such dedication, clarity, and empathy.

They noted that the session would go a long way in shaping the students’ mindset and strengthening the school’s existing efforts to promote discipline, health, and academic excellence.

The Crystal Heart Foundation remains committed to empowering young people with the right information and support to make safe choices, and this outreach marked yet another meaningful step in that direction.
