350 Defectors Dump PDP, Accord for APC in Osun as Eniade Leads Odo-Otin Political Surge
A fresh political shake-up has unfolded in Osun State as about 350 members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord Party defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odo-Otin Local Government Area. The development is widely seen as a major setback for loyalists of Governor Ademola Adeleke, amid intensifying grassroots political realignments ahead of the 2026 elections.
The defectors were formally received at the Okuku Town Hall in a gathering that drew APC stakeholders and supporters, showcasing what party leaders described as growing strength and acceptance at the grassroots. The event reflects a broader wave of political recalibration across the state, as parties intensify efforts to consolidate their base in strategic locations.
At the heart of the development is Francis Oluwadamilare Eniade, a leading aspirant for the Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo-Otin Federal Constituency, who played a central role in mobilising and welcoming the defectors. Eniade described the influx as a clear sign of increasing confidence in the APC, noting that the latest group represents the second batch of defectors he has attracted in recent weeks—further highlighting his growing influence and grassroots appeal in Odo-Otin.
