The Osun Central Elites Caucus has declared that the people of Osun State have overwhelmingly rejected Governor Ademola Adeleke, citing widespread dissatisfaction with his administration ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.

In a statement released on Monday, the caucus said it is closely monitoring political developments across the state and noted a growing, unified front among influential leaders determined to redirect Osun’s future.

“We are witnessing a historic realignment of forces,” the statement read.

“Respected leaders, including former governors Chief Bisi Akande, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Gboyega Oyetola, alongside numerous political stakeholders, have collectively resolved to chart a credible and people-focused direction for Osun State.”

According to the caucus, the emerging political consensus reflects the true mood of the electorate and not external interference, as has been suggested in some quarters.

“The claims that the growing support for the APC is driven by the police, federal influence, or intimidation are entirely false,” the group stated.

“This momentum is organic, rooted in the genuine will of the people, and not a product of rigging or coercion.”

The caucus argued that the shift in political support is a direct response to what it described as the shortcomings of the Adeleke-led administration.

“Across Osun, citizens continue to express concerns over underperformance, poor management of public resources, and a governance style perceived to be characterised by nepotism, localism, and lack of transparency,” the statement added.

It further stressed that the state cannot afford leadership that prioritises narrow interests over collective progress, warning that uneven development across communities undermines fairness and inclusive governance.

“Osun deserves a government that is accountable, transparent, and committed to equitable development for all,” the caucus said.

“The current wave of rejection is not surprising, it is the inevitable consequence of unmet expectations and misplaced priorities.”

Reaffirming its position, the caucus said it stands with the growing call for a new leadership direction anchored on competence, integrity, and the overall welfare of the people.

The group also urged residents of the state to remain peaceful, vigilant, and committed to democratic values as the election draws near.
