Oyetola @ 72: Osun APC Celebrates an Iconic Achiever, Statesman of Enduring Legacy
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has felicitated the former governor of Osun State and Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, on the occasion of his 72nd birthday anniversary.
In a statement by the state chairman of the party, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, issued by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, today, Lawal described Alhaji Oyetola as “a great achiever of all time, an accomplished statesman and a distinguished servant of the people.”
The Osun State APC chairman stated that Oyetola’s birthday provided another opportunity for the people of the state in particular and Nigerians in general to celebrate a man whose public life has been defined by service, discipline, humility, competence and numerous achievements.
Lawal remarked that the ‘Birthday Boy’s’ contributions to the development of Osun State remain an important chapter in the political history of the state, while his current assignment as Minister of Marine and Blue Economy has provided another platform for him to contribute to Nigeria’s economic development.
According to the state party chairman: “Oyetola’s stewardship in the Marine and Blue Economy sector has continued to demonstrate his capacity for strategic leadership, particularly in areas of maritime development, revenue generation, port reforms, indigenous shipping and the expansion of Nigeria’s blue-economy potential.
“Alhaji Oyetola is a great achiever of all time. His life is a testimony to what discipline, patience, competence and dedication to public service can achieve.
“From Osun to the national stage, he has continued to leave enviable footprints wherever responsibility has placed him,” Lawal stated.
The party chairman further described Oyetola as a leader of uncommon composure and enduring values, noting that his humility should not be mistaken for weakness, but should rather be recognised as one of the qualities that have distinguished his leadership over the years.
Lawal congratulated the former governor on his birthday anniversary and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant him a long life, sound health, greater wisdom and continued strength to continue to serve humanity and contribute to the progress of Osun State and Nigeria.
