On ‘TOP’- Ilesa West APC Goes Spiritual
Reading from the christian Holy Bible, Deuteronomy chapter 28 verses 1 to 4 and verses 15 downward, the leaders, political appointees, executives and all members of the All Progressive Congress in Ilesha West Local Government Area, Osun state has taken politics and their party affairs to God, where blessings were pronounced on all lovers, supporters of the state governor, Gboyega Oyetola and his second term bids.
In a like manner, curses were laid on party members who are causing divisions in the party and bend on fractionalizing the party thus trying to truncate the good governance and administration of the Governor in the party.
The decision was animonusly taken by all the leaders and all members of the party that cut across the 10 wards of the local government on Sunday at the weekly Local Government general meeting through a duly signed communique by all leaders.
In the communique it was agreed by all leaders and members of the party in the local government that Governor Gboyega Oyetola deserves a return ticket because he has performed credibly well in all sectors and ministries, after carefully weighing his performance with his campaign manifestoes and scorecards based on the accrued financial
resources at his disposal, and the feedbacks gathered and
garnered from different stakeholders of the Osun project with special reference to
achievements like prompt and full payment of salaries and
allowances of civil servants and pensioners, good welfare
package for all categories of workers including medical and
health workers amongst other notable achievements.
The communique also noted that the administration of Governor Oyetola has In spite of the aforementioned projects and the meager resources available to the state,
glaring and daunting economic downturn and fiscal
challenges in Nigeria is gladly repaying loans and debts to the federation account incurred by the previous administration
to the tune of N55billion in 28months .
Furthermore, the communique reaffirmed that Governor Gboyega Oyetola remains the leader of the party in the state and
Prince Gboyega Famodun is the APC Caretaker Chairman,
and they are solidly behind both of them as allowed in the constitution of the party.
However, the Local Government chapter of the party frowned at the sinister and
unconstitutional means of undemocratic agents within the
party to cause disunity and acrimony within the APC family
in the state, in an inglorious approach to create faction or
factionalize the party through the creation and
establishment of an unrecognized body called ‘ The Osun
Progressives (TOP).
The local government thereby dissociates in its entirety their affiliations
and connections with the group ‘ The Osun Progressives
(TOP) ’and all her members within the local government.
They equally issued a stern note of warning to all APC
members in the local government to disconnect forthwith the group.
The group was declared persona non granta within Ilesa West.
The local government after considering the achievements
enumerated above, in tune with the sacrificial, selfless
service and commitment of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola
to the growth and overall development of Osun state, with retrospect and benefit of foresight that he remains the best candidate, administrator and leader as the state approaches the
2022 gubernatorial election, unanimously agree as a local government to adopt Gboyega
Oyetola as the sole candidate of the party in the election.
Notably present at the meeting were Hon. skeleton J. A, Chairman Ilesha West Elders council, Hon. Akin Awoniyi, former member of OSHA, Hon. Fafowora Folarin, former member OSHA, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, Commissioner for works and Transports, Hon. AGBETI Tajudeen, state party Exco, Hon. Adagunodo J. B, former party Chairman, Hon. Ademola Sunday, Elder Council member, Olori Mary Agbadajo, LGA party chairman, Hon. Fakowajo Funsho Ilesha West LCDA party chairman amongst others.
