IPU HAILS SEN. AJIBOLA BASHIRU (SRJ) FOR TAKEN OROLU STATE CONSTITUENCY MATTER TO THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AGAIN

The leadership of the IPU National has described Sen. Ajibola Bashiru (SRJ) has a reliable politician for ensuring that he kept promise by conveying the message of Orolu people to the National Assembly despite his tight schedule on his re-election bid.

The Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District; Distinguished Sen. Ajibola Bashiru (SRJ) has forwarded another letter to the leadership of both Chambers of the National Assembly.

It was reliably gathered through the acknowledged copy of letter sent to the Rt. Hon. Olufemi Hakeem Gbajabiamila; CFR; The Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives and Distinguished Senator Ahmed Lawal; GCFR, The President of the Senate. The letter was dated 31st January, 2023 and acknowledged on 2nd February, 2023.

According to the letter by Sen. Ajibola Bashiru; *he solicited for the urgent intervention of the National Assembly to prevail on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to restore the surpressed Orolu State Constituency of Osun State and ensure the conduct of election thereto in the forthcoming general election in February & March, 2023 in line with the judgement of the Federal High Court Osogbo Judicial Division delivered in 26th January, 2023.*

In accordance with the Electoral Act; the INEC has up till tomorrow; 9th February, 2023 to appeal the latest judgement because it is a pure Pre-Election matter.

Senator Ajibola Bashiru has consistently been responsive to issues relating to Orolu development. This was a great encouragement and Orolu people are happy with him.
