The APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru has alleged that the accusations of academic misconduct against President Bola Tinubu lacked a factual basis unless Chicago State University contradicted their own statement by denying his enrollment as their student.

He noted that Chicago State University had stated that their primary concern was verifying if a person had attended their institution and completed the necessary coursework. They affirmed that he had indeed attended their university. He argued that the University defended the legitimacy of President Tinubu academic qualifications.

He said in an interview with TVC, ”Have Chicago State University said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was not their student? I was a student at the University of Lagos. So if I have attended the University of Lagos, will anybody say that I forged the certificate that I earned in my University? When you read the testimony of the representative of the University. They said categorically that it’s not their business to even issue diploma.

They are more concerned about whether somebody attended their school. Whether he has passed the requisite course. And that they give affirmative reply. The question of morality that they are talking about has no basis unless Chicago State University and comes forward to say Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu was not their student. So somebody saying that I forged the result of the University that I earned. How palpable is that?.”
