Oyedokun, Babayemi, others’ Defection To APC, Signals Destruction For Osun PDP — BANIK
Former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Osun State, Prince Adebayo Adeleke (BANIK) has described the defection of the former Peoples Democratic Party National Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Shuaibu Oyedokun and a governorship aspirant, Omooba Dotun Babayemi and their followers into All Progressives Congress (APC) as a strong signal of destruction for PDP in the state.
In a message welcoming the former PDP stalwarts, their followers and the late Soji Adagunodo’s suporters, BANIK said that the APC is determined to return to power in the state comes 2026 and PDP is billed to be completely deflated before the time.
According to him, the collaboration of the new members and the existing structures of the party would go a long way in exterminating the ruling party in the state.
Congratulating the new defectors into the party, the former commissioner noted that their defection was a plus for the progressive fold, a good news for the state and a bad news for the PDP.
He added that their return to the progressive fold was an indication that the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke has completely bastardised and monopolised governance in the state.
BANIK stressed that it was also a signal that the ruling PDP does not have the antecedents of being trusted with governance or keeping promises to the general public as well as political allies.
He then charged the defector to be determined and work wholeheartedly with sincerety and commitment so as to dislodge the PDP comes 2026
