APC mocks Aregbesola’s loyalist who resigned two years after expulsion

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State have taken to social media to mock Mr Francis Famurewa over his claim that he has left the party to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

According to the party members, “Famurewa ceased to be a member of our party in 2022 when he worked against us in the governorship election. He further betrayed the party in 2023 by working for Atiku against Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.”

They explained that the APC’s Disciplinary Committee found Famurewa, like many of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s lieutenants, guilty of gross misconduct, suspending him in August 2023 and later expelling him from the party.

The party members questioned the logic behind Famurewa’s claim, saying, “It’s comical that someone found dishonest and expelled from the party more than two years ago is now claiming to be freshly leaving. Clearly, he’s seeking public attention.”

They clarified that the expelled Famurewa is different from the popular Ajibola Famurewa who represented the Ijesa South Federal Constituency twice in the green chamber and is still part of the progressive fold working assiduously for return of the party to power in 2026 and re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027, maintaining that Osun has moved on from the antics of the attention seeking Francis Famurewa.
