The Osun Central Elites Caucus has criticised the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing it as a “complete failure” marked by poor governance, lack of direction, and unfulfilled campaign promises.

In a statement signed by Professor Hussein Ajirotutu, the group said it was deeply disappointed with what it sees as the government’s inability to deliver meaningful development across key sectors of the state nearly four years into its tenure.

According to the Caucus, several areas reflect what it called underperformance by the administration. It pointed to infrastructure, alleging that most road projects have been poorly executed or selectively carried out, with limited impact on residents despite high costs.

On the economy, the group said many small business owners and traders have not felt the kind of support they were promised, adding that the State Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment appears inactive, with no visible intervention programmes.

The statement also raised concerns about the education sector, citing poor conditions in public schools, inadequate facilities, and what it described as a lack of clear policy direction, including delays in addressing teacher employment.

In the health sector, the Caucus stressed conditions in state-owned hospitals, including Asubiaro, pointing to underfunding and a lack of essential equipment as ongoing challenges.

While acknowledging that workers’ salaries have been paid, the group said broader issues affecting workers especially pensions and working conditions are yet to be fully addressed.

It also questioned the transparency of the administration, arguing that public spending, including humongous federal allocations to the state, has not translated into visible development on the ground.

On security, the Caucus expressed concern over what it described as rising insecurity in parts of the state, and criticised the government for not doing enough to support the Nigeria Police Force despite available resources.

The group further alleged increasing political tension, claiming that opposition members are being intimidated by individuals linked to the government’s political interests ahead of future elections.

“Osun people deserve better than what is currently being delivered,” Professor Ajirotutu said, adding that governance should focus on competence, accountability, and real impact rather than rhetoric and nepotism.

The Caucus called on the state government to reassess its priorities and take urgent steps to address the concerns raised, warning that growing dissatisfaction among residents could have wider implications for the coming election.
