Osun 2026: We ‘II Redeem Our Lost Glory in Tourism, Culture – Oyebamiji Assures Residents

The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun state, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji popularly called AMBO, has stated that his administration would invest massively in tourism and culture when elected Governor.

Oyebamiji affirmed that the palpable lost glory of the sector would be redeemed as his government would scale-up cultural activities to global standard.

This is even as Oyebamiji extoled the revered traditionalist, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, the Araba Awo of Osogboland on the occasion of his 79th birthday anniversary describing him “rare asset to Osun and Nigeria.”

Oyebamiji spoke at the weekend during the get-together party marking the septuagenarian’s birthday, held in Osogbo.

Addressing journalists at the occasion, Oyebamiji lauded the unquantifiable and immense contributions of Chief Elebuibon to the growth and development of cultural heritage in Yorubaland in particular, Nigeria and across the globe.

He said his administration would prioritise the welfare of the citizens through the promotion of cultural activities and enhancement of tourism sector when given opportunity to serve the people of the state.

Oyebamiji who described tourism as cornerstone of development said all the tourism sites in the state would experience overhauling and total transformation when elected Governor.

“As we all know, Osun is a cultural state. Is it Osun Osogbo UNESCO site, Erin-Ijesa waterfall, Kiriji war site, Ayinkunugba water, Olojo festival, Iwude-Ijesa festival, Sango festival among others that you want to mention. Indeed, our state is blessed and we are very rich in culture and tourism.

“As the cradle of the Yoruba race, we have a lot of cultural activities that we can develop which can give us a lot of mileage and I want to assure our people that our administration would invest massively in tourism and culture. We are going to promote cultural activities.

“As you can see, the celebrant of today is an asset to Osun and Nigeria and I am sure that people like him would be happy if they see what they have laboured for being enhanced. We will do everything possible to advance the cause of cultural heritage and tourism as such that the sector would generate huge revenue for the state”, Oyebamiji assured.
