Four days after the governorship election in Osun State, the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC) has condemned the post-election violent attacks that are spreading like a wild fire across the state that is being perpetrated by the Accord Party political hoodlums on the members and supporters of the APC.

It was also learnt that some of the illegal sit-at-home local government council chairmen have forced their way into various local government council areas in the state with the aid of political hoodlums armed with guns, cutlasses, cudgels and juju.

It was also gathered that some of the illegal state executive members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) have been forcing their ways, through thugs, into the various motor parks across the state.

There were reported incidents of the violent attacks of the APC members by the Accord Party hoodlums at the Oke-fia area of Osogbo, the state capital, on Monday; attacks of our members at Amudaoba area of Modakeke on Sunday; attack of Ward 9 APC chairman at Iba in Ifelodun Local Government Council Area of the state on Sunday; one Akibu Olateju’s house was destroyed at Ilie in Ifelodun Local Government Council Area of the state while there have been complaints of attacks of the APC members and supporters in other parts of the state.

Immediately after the declaration of the governorship election results by the INEC in favour of Governor Adeleke on Sunday, the Accord Party thugs broke lose and burnt four motorcycles belonging to our members in Modakeke and destroyed the shop of one of our female members in Modakeke on Sunday while both the male and female members of the Accord Party used horse tail to whip the APC female member of our party to stupor in a recorded video that has gone viral.

We condemn in its entirety the needless violent attacks of our members by the Accord Party hoodlums as it’s a threat to public peace capable of plunging the state into a full-blown crisis should there be reprisal attacks by our members.

Such attacks of our members by the Accord Party hoodlums because their candidate, Adeleke, was declared the winner of the governorship election should not be a passport to oppress and victimise our members.

We are enjoining the state police command to rise up to the occasion of protecting the members and supporters of our party who are being needlessly attacked by the Accord Party hoodlums.

Governor Adeleke should call his attack dogs who are unjustifiably attacking our members and supporters to order as the continuation of such could be a recipe for avoidable disturbance of public peace which may degenerate to an unimaginable level.

It is important for Governor Adeleke to know that it is important for him to manage his victory very well to avert avoidable cataclysm that may bedevil his fragile administration.
