Hon. Francis Eniade Damilare, candidate for the House of Representatives for the Ifelodun, Boripe and Odo-Otin (IBO) Federal Constituency, has unveiled a youth-focused agenda aimed at expanding opportunities, improving employability and ensuring that young people become active participants in the development of the constituency.

Eniade said his ambition to represent the constituency is anchored on the conviction that the future of Ifelodun, Boripe and Odo-Otin must be built around its greatest asset; its young population.

According to him, youth representation must go beyond occupying a seat in the National Assembly. It must translate into practical opportunities that enable young people to acquire skills, secure decent livelihoods, pursue education, build businesses and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

He said his proposed youth agenda would prioritise skills development, employment and entrepreneurship, education, digital opportunities, access to funding and purposeful youth engagement.

“Our young people do not need politicians who only remember them during elections. They need representation that understands their realities and works consistently to expand their opportunities,” Eniade said.

The APC candidate said, if elected, he would pursue programmes and legislative interventions capable of connecting young constituents to vocational training, digital skills, entrepreneurship support and emerging economic opportunities.

He added that emphasis would be placed on equipping young people with skills that correspond with the realities of the modern economy, including technology, digital services, creative enterprise, agriculture, trades and other areas with potential for sustainable income generation.

Eniade also pledged to make education and capacity development central to his representation, noting that financial difficulties should not permanently shut young people out of higher education, professional development or other opportunities to improve their lives.

He said he would seek partnerships with relevant government agencies, private organisations, development institutions and other stakeholders to expand opportunities for young people across the three local government areas.

The candidate further expressed his commitment to supporting young entrepreneurs and small businesses, particularly those whose growth is constrained by inadequate access to skills, networks, markets and affordable capital.

According to him, youth empowerment should not be reduced to the distribution of temporary items or one-off cash interventions.

“Real empowerment is about giving people the capacity to stand on their own. It is about skills, knowledge, access to opportunity, mentorship, markets and the right environment to succeed,” he said.

Eniade also promised to promote greater youth participation in governance and community development, arguing that young people should not merely be beneficiaries of government policies but should have a voice in shaping the decisions that affect their future.

He said his representation would maintain channels through which young constituents could communicate their concerns, contribute ideas and engage with the work of their representative.

The candidate described the 2027 election as an opportunity for the people of the IBO Federal Constituency to demand a new model of representation — one that is responsive, accessible and focused on measurable impact.

“This is about building a constituency where a young person can look ahead with hope because there are opportunities available to him or her. It is about ensuring that our young people are not forced to leave home simply because they cannot find opportunities here,” Eniade said.

He urged youths across Ifelodun, Boripe and Odo-Otin to take an active interest in the political process and to demand accountability from anyone seeking their mandate.

Eniade said his campaign would continue to engage with young people, listen to their aspirations and refine its agenda around the issues that matter most to them.

He stressed that the journey towards a more prosperous IBO Federal Constituency requires collective participation, adding that his aspiration is to provide stronger representation, purposeful leadership and practical opportunities for the people.

“Our time is now. Our young people deserve a future they can believe in, and our representation must be bold enough to build it,” he said.
